Several Laramie High School seniors officially signed their National Letters of Intent and committed to colleges as of Nov. 13 due to their excellence in athletics.

Incoming college freshman had the option to publicly show their commitment to several different schools around the country for their outstanding performance in athletics throughout their high school years which has been a tradition at LHS for a few years now.

Senior Emmy Johnson signed to the University of Wyoming for Track and Cross Country in distance running.

Johnson has competed in several different events, placing second in the 200-meter dash, first in the 300m hurdles, first in the 4by100 meter relay and third in the 100-meter dash this last 2019 Outdoor State Track and Field Championships in Casper, WY.

Johnson holds several school records in multiple events in track and field.

Johnson placed sixth at the Wyoming State Cross Country Championships last season but didn’t compete this season due to hip related injuries.

Senior Aubry Sanchez has also signed to UW for Track in Pole Vault.

Sanchez has been competing in pole vault since 8th grade and placed second at state last season.

Sanchez also holds the school record for the event at an outstanding 11 ft and 10 inches from the Viking Invitational last spring.

Senior Abigail Whitman has signed to UW for Track and Cross Country for Distance.

Whitman placed first in the 800-meter dash and the SMR, fourth in the 1600, and third in the 3200. She also placed first at the Wyoming State XC Championships in Star Valley, WY

Whitman also holds a few school records for multiple events.

Senior Saige Morton signed to UW for Swimming. Morton competes well in several events including the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 free, 200 individual medley, 500 free, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay, with about 46 first place titles during her high school career.

Senior Olivia McPherson signed to the University of South Carolina in Swimming as well. McPherson competes in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 free, 200 individual medley, 500 free, 200 free relay and the 400 free relays, with 60 first place titles under her belt.

Senior Max DeYoung signed to the University of Wyoming in Swimming. DeYoung received 4a Athlete of the Year as well as Athlete of the meet at the state championships. DeYoung competes in several different events.

Senior Jessica Crane committed to Black Hills State University for Volleyball. Cranes stats are above average in sets played and kills, with 60 total sets played on varsity, and 93 total kills on varsity.
