The Laramie High School girls basketball team is working hard in preparation for their upcoming season.

Every coach at the high school expects the best out of the girls from a good performance to good fair well played game, trying their best throughout the game.

The LHS girls basketball team has practices from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Girls basketball is expected to start on Nov. 25.

“The thing is that we start basketball when my birthday starts so I’m going to do my best to keep it up,” said Serena Montez.

LHS coaches have the girls participate in lifting, practices, conditioning and scrimmages to prepare for the season.

“A lot of us get really tired after a while but that doesn’t mean we have to stop. We keep going and push ourselves to be the best team. (We do) a lot of passes and layups and dribbling since those are the major factors that affect how the team plays and how it runs,” said Montez.

The athletic director makes sure that the home games are the best ones throughout the year and organizes a “posse”, where students from LHS can sit to support their teams.

Students can choose to paint themselves for extra school spirit.

“I’m ready to win these games and kick some butt. I want to be the best this year and make it to varsity I hope it all goes well and I hope we stay strong this year,” said Montez.

Parents also come  to home games and travel to other schools to support their children.
