The 8th period class at Laramie High School , (Intervention and Enrichment) has implemented a time change, the students get released to travel at 2:00 p.m. and must be back in class at 3:05 p.m.

The time change brings many good things and its fair share of downfalls.

The Students at LHS used to be released at 1:55 p.m. to go see teachers and had to be back in class at 3:00 p.m.

The time change gives the teachers at the beginning of class time for more of the things they are asked to do.

The Teachers at LHS are asked to look at grades and present the Wednesday wisdom, a presentation sharing new information about the school with fellow students.

Sometimes the Wednesday Wisdom would take up all the time and the Teachers didn’t have enough time to look at the student’s grades like they were asked.

The time change gives not just the teachers but the students more time to get what they need for the class they are going to or the work they are going to be doing.

This time change gives the staff at LHS more time to not overlap into the time the students need to use if they have something to talk to the students about.

The students have a little more time at the beginning of class is a good thing for High School students and Teachers.

Teachers and Students get overwhelmed with how you have to go from one thing to another to another and a little more time even though its five minutes isn’t a bad thing.

The time change also changed the time that you must be going back to your class, the bell rings, at 3:05 p.m.

This could bring some problems because it gives the students less time at the end of class to get back to class before school ends at 3:10 p.m.

If a lot of people go to study hall and they all try to leave at once, then it might be difficult to get out and back to class before the final bell.

I&E is to work and catch up on schoolwork and if the students have 10 min at the end of the day chances are that they aren’t going to use that time to work they are going to mess around and not do anything.

The principles at LHS always tell the students that if they don’t use I&E the right way that they will take it away and go to 8 classes.

This might be a way to have students work up to the end of school bell instead of only until 3.

This time change isn’t a bad thing, it gives the same time to be at the class and to work than before the time change.

It just helps the students and teachers get organized instead of rushing anything and not getting anything done.
