The Laramie High School Boys Basketball team is hoping for a great season this year and are working hard to make a run at the state title.

Cordae Wynn is a senior on the LHS basketball team. “Ever since I started playing basketball my freshman year i fell in love with the game, my goal is to play in college so to be successful I must put mind over matter,” Wynn said.

“The biggest challenges are going into a game and having a good mindset, once you’ve established that the next goal is finding a way to win every time you step on the court,” Wynn said.

Conner Killpack is another big player on varsity, and he is feeling confident that if the team plays together they could make a run for the state title.

The Plainsmen basketball team has been training all summer and are going through two a day practices every day so that they will mesh better together. They want each player to buy in and play for each other. They strongly believe in forming a brotherhood and an unbreakable bond.

“What I love about playing basketball is the team chemistry and seeing how well we work together and not against one another,” Wynn said.

Seeing the team vibe well together makes the coaches happy along with good energy at practices.

They are hoping to get a lot of wins this year. They want to give back to the community and get the town on their back.

“When playing we like to have fun with it but at the same time we are going out there to win not lose and to show other teams that Laramie are competitors” Killpack said.

Some more challenges to playing are staying focused all throughout the season and always keeping positive energy within the team.

“Being part of a team can be tough because you want to be close with your teammates but don’t want to drive them crazy or make them mad,” Killpack said.

The team has three seniors with varsity experience Brady Epler, Hudda Herrea and Will Tyser. These three players are some of the top leaders due to their experience at the highest level.

The LHS boys basketball team haven’t had a game in nearly three weeks but will hit the hardwood December 27th in Sydney Nebraska at the Cabelas Holiday Shootout 2018.
