Laramie High School students attended their Homecoming Dance Saturday Sep. 30th from 8pm to 11pm in the high school commons area.  The theme of this year’s Homecoming was neon, and was named Glow-Coming.

The school’s student counsel ran the homecoming event and sold tickets several weeks in advance.  If students did not buy a ticket in the weeks prior to the dance they were able to buy one at the door. Approximately 250 tickets were sold to students from 9th to 12th grade. All proceeds made from ticket sales went toward paying for decorations, food, and the DJ’s for homecoming

The commons area was decorated with neon inner tubes and Glow sticks were handed out for students to wear.

The DJ was set up along with a smoke machine and balloons. Students were able to request songs to be played by the DJ’s.

Students also had the chance to take pictures behind a white boarder that resembled polaroid pictures. There was a small table near the picture area covered in props that students could have with them in their pictures.

Chocolate and vanilla cake pops were available to students. These were made by LHS culinary arts students. Lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and water were also served as beverages.

The week before Homecoming the high school showed its school pride with spirit week. Starting Tuesday Sept. 26th with twin day and the dodge ball tournament in the evening. Wednesday Sept. 27th was safety orange day and a pep assembly was held in the gym where students voted for homecoming court candidates. Thursday Sept. 28th students wore tie dye, and finalists for homecoming royalty were announced at the burning of the L. On the last day of the week students wore school colors and homecoming court announcement at half time of the football game.
